The name HYGIEIA (Ὑγιεία), which fully represents the mission of this Institute, has been derived from Greek and Roman mythology. HYGIEIA was the daughter of the god of medicine (Asclepius) and the goddess of health, cleanliness, and sanitation. Her name is the source of the word hygiene.
HYGIEIA is distributed to patients and their caregivers, physicians, health care providers, and community workers across the Nation by e-mail, fax, and mail.
